I propose standardizing the rules for blue ooze as follows:

1. any ooze will spread into adjacent squares if it can.
2. An ooze will strengthen if any adjacent square has a stronger ooze in it.

These rules would work almost as the current map does, and would also subsume the weaker ooze rules. The advantage would be that you wouldn't need to specify what sort of ooze lived in a map.

Also, for this particular map I would suggest using strength-1 ooze in the center, since this is the stuff that tends to divide the players.

That sounds like how Oozebekistan works, and that standardization is already considered correct; the new script just hasn't landed in place on the server yet (and Wolff won't be able to get to it for some days).

As for the center being strength 1: possibly. if you look closely you'll note that it is weaker than the corners. I think this will be sufficient. (it is also, possibly importantly, weak enough that a Firebot blast is guaranteed to kill all the ooze it hits.)

There's also, btw, a draft of a script to give a LMS bonus of 5 points per hp of the toughest ooze left on the map. However, it doesn't work yet, and I'm not sure if it will.
