I propose standardizing the rules for blue ooze as follows:
1. any ooze will spread into adjacent squares if it can.
2. An ooze will strengthen if any adjacent square has a stronger ooze in it.
These rules would work almost as the current map does, and would also subsume the weaker ooze rules. The advantage would be that you wouldn't need to specify what sort of ooze lived in a map.
Also, for this particular map I would suggest using strength-1 ooze in the center, since this is the stuff that tends to divide the players.
