When you play LGGWG, you are sending moves by http to the Servinator, which is the program at lggwg.com that manages your game.

  • Login: The login you use on http://lggwg.com. This is used when uploading screenshots and maps.
  • Base URL of the Servinator: Don’t screw around with this until told otherwise. Generally, the client comes with this set correctly already—-that is, http://lggwg.com/
  • Sound Effects Volume: How loud gunshots and explosions sound.
  • Music Volume: When and if we ever enable music for LGGWG, this is how you set its volume.
  • Load folder: This is where your outgoing move and fragment files get saved. It is also the default directory you see when you hit “Load” from the main page. This defaults to /Users/loginname/ on Windows, and /home/loginname/ on the Mac. However, if you want to point it at another place, like your desktop or your mail attachments folder, go ahead.
  • Animation Scale: If your Green Guys are moving too fast or too slow, you can set this at any time to speed up or slow down the animation. 40 is the standard speed; here, we’ve set it to 50 to speed things up a little. You can also adjust this dynamically during movie playback.
  • See warnings about illegal movement or firings: The client doesn’t know if your orders will go as planned (all plans fail to survive contact with the enemy!), but it will pop up warning dialogs if you give orders that seem obviously wrong. If you turn this off (as we have), those orders will appear white but won’t get you a warning.
  • Run scripting during test movie: When you hit “Test Move” to check your orders, the engine does not normally run scripts, which are special events in the map (like tutorial messages or disappearing walls). However, if you are debugging a script yourself, it’s quite helpful to have this turn on.

You can read more about how to play LGGWG in Basics or Rulebook.
