Miner

The irritant. The Miner doesn’t have much of an active attack, but the droppings can be deadly. I think, in fact, there is a certain stigma attached to stepping on a mine that somewhat inflates their perceived worth.

Your Miner is a cheap and effective defense for your Exec against Snipey shots and Puffer charges.

If Enemy Miners are present in significant numbers on the map, keep a Max in reserve to clear the way once the board is emptied of other units.

More Miner Strategies

1. use them to signal if you’re being flanked, since someone has to set off a mine, and you’ll know about its death even if your guys aren’t there.

2. use them to slow down an attack you know is coming. It’s ineffective to actually hold off the attack, but you can slow it down a turn or two to give yourself a chance to regroup.

3. use them on offense. This means you run into a big mix of guys, throw down a mine, and run away. Then someone’s more expensive unit steps on it during the same turn.

4. use them as damage sponges—-green guy shields.
