Inserting_Orders
To insert orders before other orders already given, hit the button labeled “insert” (Quick Key: ‘E’). This will bring up a list of all the orders so far issued. Select the order that you want to start putting things in front of, and hit “insert before selected order”. Now you’re inserting before that order. To go back to inserting at the end, hit “insert” and the “at end” button. (you can also select the row that says “End of list” and use the “insert before selected order” button.)
For example, let’s say you moved your Firebot, and then shot. You realized that the Firebot was going to burn your Snipey, so you want to move the Snipey—you can hit “insert”, then select the row that says “Firebot … Target Fire”, hit “before selected order” and then select the Snipey and move him out of the way.
Using this in combination with “clear” and “undo” can be a little intimidating at first, but can save a lot of re-doing the same orders with minor changes. Note that, no matter where you put the insert cursor, undo will always undo the last order you gave, which may not be the order at the end of the list. It is often good to get in the habit of using the “clear” button (Quick Key: ‘C’) to clear all orders given to the selected unit. This is less confusing, even though it sometimes means re-issuing an order or two you could have saved.
