It's sad that we lose all the associated chat with each new upload, though.

Ugh. Yeah, I'd call that a bug.

The UI right now requires me to "Destroy" the map with each update. It's not so much an update as a new map. I expect we lose all the usage data about that map too...

I suspect that all this data is still in the DB (well, as much of it as ever existed; my understanding is that the DB never gets a fair bit of the usage data i want it to).

Actually, you don't lose much usage data at all.

Maps are, for the most part, lookup-by-name rather than lookup-by-id, precisely so you can swap them out and maintain continuity.

You do, however, lose any outstanding unstarted challenges when you destroy a map.

Green still looks to have too many trees and red doesn't have enough cover approaching the bridge.
I think a 2nd bridge might be an idea - might make the game too long though.

I'll leave it as is for now but let me know if it proves to really be a problem.

I can't wait to see bias stats for maps. That would really clear some of this stuff up.

Does "I can't wait" mean Wolff has actually expressed intent to implement it? I've never heard him weigh in on any of the discussions thereof. Certainly it's a feature I'd really love to have.

I'll be honest and say I don't record positional data in the database. The players are in the order they joined in the slots, not the order the are in the game (assuming you checked "scramble starting positions", which everyone should do).

If someone were, like, paying for it, I could write a script to load the last Servinator file for each game and dump some stat data. It's not an A-bug, though.

(An "A"-bug is that RoboBot is taking too long to move on maps with many closed doors and lots of units and it makes the website feel unstable. Another "A" bug is changing up some of the credit rewards work (a gold medal on Eliminator should be worth more than a bronze medal on Trisland), and yet another one is to add some more hats. A final "A" bug is connecting LGGWG to Facebook properly.)

I realize balancing asymmetrical maps might need that kind of data, though, so it's somewhere deep on the list. One problem: I have no way to tracking when the revisions hit the map (lookup by name, you see).

It should be possible for the map owner to do this manually, if there is a public database/list of all challenges played and the corresponding movies. Right now we just have the "recently completed games", but perhaps on each map page there could be a link that takes you to a list of all games played on that map?
