I dare you to play it ranked as your first attempt.
Description: RoboBot offers you a chance to see his most recent acquisition, but it turns out to be a hostile takeover. (1p, PvE, long, beta, scripts: kill flags to open walls & get medpacks)

It says I've already succeeded. Which is confusing, because it also says that I've succeeded at 6 of 7, and the only one not listed as "succeeded" is one I'm playing not as a RoboChallnge and which I've succeeded at before. |

I was quite pleased with how things were going. And then, on turn 5, I killed a flag with my Miner. Health packs appeared, completely surrounding said Miner. And then a RoboBot Max fired through the newly-opened wall at the Miner, destroying all the health packs in one shot. I don't fancy my odds anymore. |

I think this map has too many Snipeys in one place, especially with new smarter RoboBot. I was about 8 laborious turns in and doing pretty well and then it was like BING I'm going to roll sixes whoops, you've lost your Firebot and your Max. You can't pick up the health packs from the door-opening flags with the heavy troops without exposing them to extreme fire, which negates the utility of the flags. I've got a strategy that might work, but A) it's super-weasel strategy, and B) it might take too long. It's interesting how the standard Firebot-blitz and then explode on your enemies move, which is more or less how I designed the units to be used, turns out to be exactly the wrong thing on this map. |

Too Many Snipeys: upper left, or bottom? I can see that I may need to tune this one down a notch; some feedback about where is too hard would be great. For the record, when I won the map, I think I collected less than half of the medpacks dropped; I don't think getting more than about half is very likely at all. But yeah: letting a firebot explode before you've killed two execs is probably a bad thing. |

I just won (barely) after collecting very few medpacks indeed. In all but one case, the moment they appeared, they got obliterated by an enemy Max. Difficult to avoid that. My winning was due to three main factors: RB doesn't know to not stack troops up in front of a Firebot (I had three of 'em), he doesn't know how to find a hiding Exec (mine hid in the back of the starting chamber, umolested, for most of the game), and he still has no concept of keeping his (last) Exec safe, thus letting my desperation E.P.A. succeed at the end. |

I should add that he was rolling poorly toward the beginning, and he stepped on an awful lot of his own mines. Seems he should be smart enough to avoid that latter problem. |

There's a bug where miners will, if locked into rooms with no path to enemies, will sometimes make invalid orders, and because of chaining errors, this triggers mine errors. (I had not anticipated people would be putting RoboBot in completely closed rooms without doors, for some reason. :-) I will fix it soon. "Kaboom!" |

Holy fushiznit, I actually won on my second try! This was greatly facilitated by Robo blowing up crates on himself so that the last Exec went down quickly. re: lots of Snipeys. In my first game, I had a Firebot, two Maxes, and a Puffer. Immediately upon destroying the first enemy flag, enemy Snipeys and Maxes ripped apart my strike force in two turns. The Firebot and Maxes simply didn't have enough maneuverability to shoot and then hide. My second strike force had four Snipeys, a Puffer, and a Miner. Once the first room was finished, they could stay out of the way until the second enemy Exec came out. The third enemy Exec went down to Snipey fire from the opposite side; I opened up the middle with the Max. It would be nice if enemy Execs dropped medpaks. re: Robo got 10 points. There's an old bug in the scoring where one player is more than 20 ranks ahead of another player. I mentioned it to wolff before when Sarahmac beat me in a 2-way map. |
